  • Completed the purchase of recyling operations in Kansas City, Mo., U.S., and Topeka, Kan., U.S. and a recovered paper trucking operation in Manhattan, Kan., from Republic Paperboard Company, LLC.

2003

  • Completed purchase of Australian Tube Company (ATC) of Revsby, New South Wales, Australia.
  • Signed an agreement with Nestle Canada Inc. to be the exclusive supplier of paperboard cans for certain powdered beverage products sold in Canada.
  • Signed a long-term agreement with Ball Corporation to provide all of its convenience closures
  • James M. Micali elected to the board of directors.
  • Announced the closing of the Wausau, Wis., U.S., composite can plant and the consolidation of two composite can plants in Jackson, Tenn., U.S., into one facility.
