New! A portfolio of solutions designed to be curbside recyclable in the paper stream. Available with high barrier, EnviroFlex® Paper is ideal for packaging formats such as flow wrap, sachets, pillow bags and pouches.
Barrier Properties
EnviroFlex® Paper offers a range of barrier solutions, from overwraps for general purpose and hygiene, to shelf stable applications with high oxygen, moisture and grease barrier requirements. EnviroFlex products do not contain substances of concern.
On-Pack Claims
EnviroFlex® Paper was designed with recyclability in mind and has been pre-qualified to carry the paper stream How2Recycle® label in North America. See examples and note that on-product label may vary based on final application and local availability of recycling resources.
Printing
Sonoco offers standard and advanced flexographic as well as rotogravure printing for high-speed, high-quality output. For cost-effective, efficient printing, even when runs are smaller, we specialize in pre-press services and combo printing to make the most out of every impression.

EnviroFlex® PE
EnviroFlex® PE, is available as a pouch or rollstock and provides the durability and processability expected from polyethylene in a store drop-off recyclable structure
Engineered to be a mono-material lamination, EnviroFlex PE has been pre-qualified in North America to carry the “store drop off / plastic” How2Recycle® label indicating ease of recyclability (where available).
- Ideal for a wide range of foods including confections, snacks, dry or dehydrated
- Flow wrap options for single serve snacks, personal care, baby and household items
- Available as a premade pouch or rollstock, with or without barrier
- Runs on both vertical and horizontal form-fill-seal machines
- Cold seal structures available in metallized, clear or high barrier film
EnviroFlex® Recycled Content
For multi-layer applications requiring extra durability or barrier performance, end of-life recycling options remain out of reach. As we wait while the global recycling infrastructure improves, the best way to achieve sustainability attributes today is to add renewable or recycled raw materials into the manufacturing process.
EnviroFlex® Recycled Content is a high-barrier, high durability film that is made with post-consumer recycled content secured from both mechanical and advanced recycling operations.

- Ideal for coffee, pet foods, or other items requiring enhanced pouch performance
EnviroFlex® Compostable
EnviroFlex Compostable provides end-of-life solutions for difficult-to-recycle packages, including small format or packages with residual product.
- Available as heat sealable rollstock or pre-made pouch
- Poduced with certified industrial compostable materials tested to ASTMD6400 or EN 13432 standards
- Ideal for low to moderate barrier applications including confections, salty snacks, and shelf-stable liquids
